Introduction
RKY Car Parked ("we", "us", or "the App") is a utility mobile application designed to help users save their parking locations, set reminders, and navigate back to their vehicles. We are committed to protecting your privacy. The App is designed to operate offline and locally, saving all data directly to your device or synced privately via Apple's iCloud Key-Value Store (KVS).
Data Collection & Handling
- No Account Required: You do not need to register, create an account, or log in to use the App. We do not collect or request any personal identification information.
- Parking Logs & Active Sessions: Your active parking details (coordinates, address, start/end time, duration, note, and optional photo) are stored 100% locally on your device's hardware. We do not have access to, transmit, or store this data on our servers.
- iCloud Key-Value Store Sync: If enabled, the App utilizes Apple's native iCloud Key-Value Store to synchronize your settings and parking logs across your own Apple devices. This sync is private to your personal iCloud account, and the developer has no access to this database.
- In-App Purchases & Subscriptions: All transactions and subscription processing are handled securely by Apple's App Store or Google Play. We do not collect, store, or process any payment card details or billing information. Apple provides us with anonymous purchase tokens/receipts to verify your premium status.
- Contact & Support: If you reach out to us for technical assistance via email, we collect your email address and message contents solely to answer your questions. This data is never shared or used for advertising.
Device Permissions
The App requires the following system permissions to operate effectively:
- Location Access: Foreground location permissions are requested to retrieve your current GPS coordinates to pin your car on the map and calculate walking directions.
- Notifications: Permissions are requested to schedule local alerts that remind you when your parking duration is nearing expiration.
- Camera & Photo Library: Permissions are requested to take a photo of your parked car or select an existing photo. These images are stored locally on your device or in your private iCloud backup, and are never sent to our servers.
Third-Party Services
- Google AdMob: We use Google AdMob to serve advertisements. AdMob may collect and process device identifiers (such as Apple's Identifier for Advertisers / IDFA and Android's Advertising ID), usage data, and app performance/diagnostics data. Non-personalized ads are requested. You can manage ad permissions through your device settings.
- Google Maps: The App uses Google Maps for map rendering. Google Maps may collect usage data subject to Google's privacy policy.
- OSRM Routing Service: When you request walking directions to your parked car, the App sends your origin and destination GPS coordinates to the OSRM public routing API (router.project-osrm.org) to calculate a walking route. No personal identification is sent with this request.
- Expo Updates: The App uses Expo's over-the-air update service to deliver JavaScript bundle updates. This service does not collect personal data.
Data Security & Ownership
Because the App operates offline and stores all records locally, you are in full control of your data.
- Data Deletion: You can purge all active sessions, history logs, and settings at any time by tapping "Reset All Data" inside the Settings menu.
- App Deletion: Uninstalling the App removes all local records. Synced iCloud values can be managed separately inside your Apple device settings.
