Introduction
RKY AI Carousel ("we", "us", or "the App") is a mobile application for creating Instagram carousel posts. We are committed to protecting your privacy. The App is designed to operate locally, saving all data directly to your device. No account registration is required. By default, the App runs completely offline. If you choose to enable the optional OpenAI integration (BYOK), the App will connect directly to OpenAI's API to process your requests.
Data Collection & Handling
- No Account Required: You do not need to register, create an account, or log in to use the App. We do not collect or request any personal identification information.
- Carousel Content: Your slide text, template selections, and carousel history are stored 100% locally on your device. Except for text prompts sent directly to OpenAI when using the optional OpenAI Integration (BYOK), we do not have access to, transmit, or store this data on any server.
- OpenAI Integration (BYOK): If you enable the optional OpenAI Integration by providing your own API key (BYOK), the API key is stored securely and locally on your device. We do not see, store, or track your API key. When you use AI-assisted features (like text rewrite or slide generation), your prompt text is sent directly from your device to OpenAI's API. Your usage is subject to OpenAI's privacy policy.
- Photo Library Access: The App requests photo library access only when you choose to save your exported slides. Images are saved to your device's photo library and are not uploaded, transmitted, or accessed by us.
- Camera Access: The App does not use the camera.
- Contact & Support: If you reach out to us for technical assistance via email, we collect your email address and message contents solely to answer your questions. This data is never shared or used for advertising.
Device Permissions
The App requires the following system permissions to operate effectively:
- Photo Library (NSPhotoLibraryUsageDescription): Required only when you choose to save your exported carousel slides to your device's photo library.
Third-Party Services & Integrations
The App contains no third-party analytics libraries, advertising SDKs, crash-reporting tools, or telemetry systems. No background tracking or diagnostic data leaves your device.
The only third-party service integration is the optional OpenAI API integration (BYOK). When activated, the App connects directly to OpenAI's servers (api.openai.com) to generate or rewrite text. This interaction is direct and does not route through our servers. Please refer to OpenAI's Privacy Policy (https://openai.com/policies/privacy-policy) for information on how they handle API data.
Data Security & Ownership
- Data Deletion: You can delete individual carousel drafts or clear your entire creation history at any time from within the App.
- App Deletion: Uninstalling the App removes all locally stored data permanently. Any images already saved to your photo library will remain on your device.
