RKY White Noise ("we", "us", or "the App") is an ambient sound mixing and sleep scheduling application designed to help users relax and sleep. We value your privacy and believe in a transparent, tracker-free mobile experience. This policy details how your data is handled.
Data Collection & Privacy
- No Personal Data Collected: The App does not require user registration or accounts. We do not collect, capture, or transmit personal details such as names, contact info, device IDs, or tracking metrics.
- Local Storage of Preferences: All configurations you set—including bedtime schedule rules, sleep timer presets, active audio sound levels, screen wake-lock settings, and sleep dim configurations—are stored locally on your device. We do not have access to these settings, and they never leave your device.
- Support Communications: If you contact us directly via email for support, we will use your email address and message contents solely to reply to your inquiry. This information is never shared with third parties or used for marketing.
- Contact form on rky.app: We use the contact form hosted at rky.app to receive and respond to user inquiries related to the App. When you submit the contact form you may voluntarily provide personal data, including but not limited to your name, email address, and any other information you elect to supply (collectively, "Contact Information"). We collect and process Contact Information solely for the limited purposes of responding to your inquiry, providing customer support, and otherwise communicating with you about your request. We retain Contact Information only as long as necessary to fulfil these purposes and to satisfy applicable legal obligations.
Permissions & Background Services
To provide a premium sleep companion experience, the app utilizes system capabilities which operate within strict privacy boundaries:
- Background Audio Playback: The app plays custom sound loops in the background when the app is minimized or your device screen is locked. No background tracking or recording is performed during audio loops.
- Prevent System Sleep: When you enable the "Keep Screen Active" or "Sleep Dim Mode" preferences, the app uses system wake tools to prevent screen locks so the display can remain dimmed next to your bed.
Third-Party Libraries & Analytics
We do not integrate third-party analytics (like Google Analytics or Firebase Telemetry), crash-reporting services, or advertising SDKs. The app is completely free of tracking code, ensuring a private and battery-efficient runtime.
Your Rights and Controls
- You can modify or clear all app settings and bedtime schedules inside the settings tab at any time.
- Clearing the app's cache or uninstalling the app from your device will permanently erase all locally cached sound mixing preferences.
