Introduction
RKY Unknown Alert ("we", "us", or "the App") is a utility mobile application designed to help users scan their local network subnet, discover connected devices, manage trust lists, and receive device alerts. We are committed to protecting your privacy. The App is designed to operate offline and locally, saving all data directly to your device or synced privately via Apple's iCloud storage.
Data Collection & Handling
- No Account Required: You do not need to register, create an account, or log in to use the App. We do not collect or request any personal identification information.
- Subnet Scanning Logs: Your local network scans (IP addresses, MAC addresses, connection status, vendor names, and device trust statuses) are stored 100% locally on your device's hardware. We do not have access to, transmit, or store this data on our servers.
- iCloud Sync: If enabled, the App utilizes Apple's native iCloud storage to synchronize your settings and device trust lists across your own Apple devices. This sync is private to your personal iCloud account, and the developer has no access to this database.
- In-App Purchases & Subscriptions: All transactions and subscription processing are handled securely by Apple's App Store. We do not collect, store, or process any payment card details or billing information. Apple provides us with anonymous purchase tokens/receipts to verify your premium status.
- Contact & Support: If you reach out to us for technical assistance via email, we collect your email address and message contents solely to answer your questions. This data is never shared or used for advertising.
Device Permissions
The App requires the following system permissions to operate effectively:
- Local Network Access: Required to scan the subnet, discover connected hardware devices, and verify network connectivity.
- Location Access: Foreground location permission is requested to retrieve your connected Wi-Fi network name (SSID), as required by the iOS platform. The developer does not collect or track your physical location.
- Notifications: Permissions are requested to schedule local alerts that warn you when new or unrecognized devices are discovered.
Data Security & Ownership
Because the App operates offline and stores all records locally, you are in full control of your data. We do not employ third-party analytics trackers, SDKs, or advertising libraries.
- Data Deletion: You can purge all discovered devices, history logs, and settings at any time by tapping "Reset All Data" inside the Settings menu.
- App Deletion: Uninstalling the App removes all local records. Synced iCloud values can be managed separately inside your Apple device settings.
